The call for a public stand against abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and against the general eradication of the unique dignity and worth of all human beings was not widely accepted at first. Many of the evangelical leadership either were totally silent about abortion, or qualified what they did say about abortion to such an extent that they really said nothing, or less than nothing, as far as the battle for human life was concerned (Francis Schaeffer, A Christian Manifesto, 67).
We will hold our first Sanctity of Life Sunday tomorrow. In my research for Sunday I found the following resources helpful. There are undoubtedly many others. I found these to be helpful on the issue of abortion in particular. I do not necessarily agree with all the views expressed on these sites.

In the pictures section of abort73.com [WARNING: graphic images] they cite the Rev. Al Sharpton, “People can sort of deal with things they don’t have to look at.” While I may disagree with him more often than not, he has got it right on this one. When we see the brutality and deadly of effects of abortion, it rattles us to the core. Hopefully it moves us to be increasingly repulsed at the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17) and give a voice to “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40, 45). Some of these videos contain graphic images.
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the rights of the afflicted and the destitute.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
